Sunday, September 24th, my local Democrat and Chronicle had a nice section on the George Eastman House. For those not in the know, the George Eastman International Museum of Photography and Film "combines the world's leading collections of photography and film with the stately pleasures of the landmark Colonial Revival mansion and gardens that George Eastman called home, from 1905 - 1932."
So, what does this have to do with pets? Well, the Eastman House is sponsoring an animal photo exhibit, complete with a section on pets: Why Look at Animals. and a fine one it is. I can't show you the great photos they printed in our paper, but you can visit it online. And send in photos of your own.
With that in mind, the Eastman House is definitely looking for "animals in costume" and...so is Laura over at Embrace Pet Community blog. She notes that October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. This blog is a keeper. Love the pic of the Beagle and the terrier and the Disco Doberman, which is part of their Halloween Pet Photos. No contest or prizes, just pet fun.
Now...don't embarrass the kitties - they aren't as open to the whole "dress up" thing as dogs (as evidenced by the look on Pandora's face, here, when I asked her if she was dressing up for Halloween). But, do deck out Fido and King (or whatever your collie or poodle or lab is called) and send us the best results!
And - I haven't forgotten the promise for Cat Photo Opps. Stay tuned!
