I love my cat

I was informed - in no uncertain terms - by Wabby Wibby that I was spending entirely too much time on the canine part of the family. Wabby doesn't always seem interested in blogging - not as much as Carmel, but... I guess she was paying more attention than I thought.

I don't profess to be fluent in 'cat'... but, I can catch the jist of what's circulating about in Wabby'sPandoranappingsmall_1   brain, if I try. She's pretty transparent.

So, I thought that was a good excuse to go over to Animal Planet (since the only thing I can really contribute about the resident feline here is that - she's napping again. In just a short while she'll be up and meowing for dinner... something she feels she has to do at least 2 hours ahead of time...every day) to see what was up in the way of cats, there.

Disappointment. Even Animal Planet is pro-dog. Oh, don't go off on me. I love Carmel, and all dogs. But, come on. What about our feline friends? I just know there are LOTS and lots of folks who love cats. Don't we count, too? Of course, animal planet did have this page called their Cat Guide. Love the kitties!

While there, I clicked into the "Intelligence" page, and this is what I learned:

"Dogs are pack animals, motivated by a strong need to follow and please the pack's 'top' dog (or a human master) in order to receive praise. The solitary cat answers to no one and is motivated by the need to survive. And while trainability may not be the feline's forte, cleverness and adaptability certainly are."

No doubt Wabby would approve.

Tomorrow: more Q&A with Dr. Larry. Y'all come back now!
