Today I'm shining the bloglight on petblogs. I like to look around the net to see what's new in the world of pets, beyond Purina or the obvious sites like Cat Fancy, the AKC, and the ASPCA.
I'm happy to report that, as a peblog, Scratchings and Sniffings is rising up the search ladder. Today's search has us showing up on page 2, in a series of three links. That's out of 530 hits. It's often harder to show up in a list that small, than to show up in a really big list. The problem with 'search' is that it's really unreliable. There are links in this list that go nowhere. If Google is so good at what it does, why doesn't it cull out the dead links? This one looked really good... but it hasn't been updated since November!
Technorati isn't much better. I went over there to see what kinds of folks were writing petblogs and all I got was a list of -- not so savory stuff. Not sure at all how the word "petblogs" fits into that!
I didn't even find anything worthwhile by searching 'dog' and 'cat'...what's up with that? Before I go, I do have to share this link - to the Immovable Object post - because the picture is Carmel and Wabby Wibby so totally! Testament to the fact that what gets put online, stays online. This is from Dec of 2004!!!
Well, pet bloggers are out there. I've mentioned a few here and there. I'll keep looking. In the meantime, I have research to do. I'm curious - why did the Egyptians worship cats?
Stay tuned... I'll reveal all soon. And, we have more questions for Dr. Larry. Keep'em coming!
