Worldwide Fido Wants YOU!

Can't pass this up - came to me as a press release in my email. The subject line got me and I had to open it: "American Idol Meets the Westminster Dog Show."

Now, wouldn't you open that? National_dog_day

Here's the scoop - Worldwide Fido , a user-generated competition "where popular breeds and mutts compete, snout-to-snout to be crowned America's next Top Dog" is live now - complete with videos and photos.

There are four categories: Cutest Dog, Best Trick, Best Friend and Most Outrageous. They also include an Adopt Me! section, for animal rescue centers across the country. I'm angling to interview the founder, Albie Hecht. And, they're reminding us that National Dog Day is August 26th.
