Doing More For Pets with Husky Haven
Houston, TX

Pro_plan_rally_to_rescue_logo Last week actress and pet lover Emily Proctor - she of CSI Miami fame - was part of a Rally to Rescue event in St. Louis, home of Purina pet foods. The rally was part of "Doing More for Pets" Rescue Stories Contest, according to this press release out of PRNewswire.

The contest came from Purina's® Pro Plan® brand, to "promote the amazing but often untold stories of pet resuce and raise awareness about its importance. The contest honored rescued pets, like Rummy [the winner], that have overcome great odds to survive and thrive..."

Rummy, a Siberian Husky, was found (it doesn't say where or by whom) "blind, bald, starving and Rummy_winner_of_doing_more_for_pets infested with potentially deadly parasites. Today, Rummy not only has a new look -- he has a new leash on life and is taking $5000 worth of Pro Plan brand pet food back to Husky Haven, the Houston, Texas rescue organization that nursed him back to health."

Travel arrangements to attend the event honoring Rummy and other winners, was view air with Midwest Airlines on their Premier Pet Program.

Now, who says Purina doesn't care about pets? It's just not true. The Purina I know cares deeply... and these events, among others written about in this blog and more to come, prove it.

Hi Yvonne
Found this post as a result of your attendance at Liz's birthday party. We missed each other cos I'm in the wrong hemisphere otherwise we could have a had a good gossip over a nice crisp chardonnay!
As the quasi owners of our son's Husky i can't imagine anyone treating those beautiful animals like that.
Keep up the great work here
Warm regards Chris
