I
keep thinking today is Friday. Or, maybe I'm wishing today was Friday. It's been one of those over the top weeks with too much going on. Not so much that I neglect my Carmel or my Wabby Wibby, though. As a matter of fact, Wabby has been pretty needy, lately. Might be old-age catching up with her. I can't complain, I like it. (this is her in her most normal pose...on the sofa)
Today seems like a good day to announce that I'll be writing some kewl content prolly once a week, directly from the sponsor of this blog, Purina. No, they aren't 'feeding' me content. I asked if I could get information on some of the exciting things that are happening at Purina, and they said ok. Mind you, the content I'll be sharing is stuff I find interesting or useful. I know I've been curious about how things operate at Purina, and I bet some of you are, also. Things like the Incredible Dog Challenge (which I never knew about before starting this blog), and other stuff, too. Well, I have been bugging them to share, and they've finally caved! (ok, I wasn't too over the top, I was polite, and they finally saw the light - why not share some of their stories with my petblog readers?)
Therefore, my first bit of news...exciting news...is about cats. We talk so much about dogs, and I LOVE dogs... always have...but, I love cats, too. When I got this notice about a new reality show sponsored by Purina® Cat Chow® (Wabby has been eating Cat Chow for a long time), I knew it had to be the first on my list of stuff to share.
Here's the big intro: "After years of canine-dominated reality TV, the cats are strutting in and demanding their rightful time slot." That's straight from the kitty's litter box...or rather, from her cat perch. (not sure who wrote that but I say she deserves a raise...great copy!)
The show, Housecat Housecall™ will air "over a 12-week period on Animal Planet on Saturdays at 9a.m E/P and Sundays at 7a.m. E/P beginning June 7th." Here's the scoop on it -- Dr. Katrina Warren and "her expert team" is going to be visiting homes and helping cat owners solve "their most pressing feline matters." The homes were selected earlier on so the shows are taped.
Could be scratching the furniture (hey, I thought that was a given with a cat - maybe it's not; Dr. Katrina has a solution in the video on this page), and she even addresses eating issues (again, aren't cats supposed to be finicky? Luckily, Wabby has never been so...now Carmel...she can be finicky), and maybe even excessive licking, according to the press release the Purina PR folks sent me. "A Cast of Catty Characters" they said...with a "Celebrity Veterinarian." Hey, isn't Dr. Larry a celebrity, too?
I LOVE this idea. I'm definitely tuning in...how about you?
Next week: Beneful...a peek inside creating a new dog food...

hi! I love my cat frosty. he's a black and white, I think he's an amarican short hair. he's always finding new hiding spots Ican't keep up with him. but those little times I see him he's loving and talks about it all the time.he's always shy when it comes to my friends coming over. What should i do?

I have seen the program Housecat Housecalls and really enjoyed it. I have had great success in taming two feral kittens, and would love to see a story about similar experiences. Can an adult feral cat be tamed? I would very much like to know about the body language of cats and something about "cat psychology" so that I could understand what is going on with my problem kitty. She is affectionate with the other house cats, but seems to dislike people.
