I've talked about Rally to Rescue before... but it never hurts to remind folks about this great organization, which is, yes, sponsored by Purina. I was reminded of it by an article on the Dog Channel... called, "Rescue Dogs Beat the Odds." (they have an ad for the new TV show, Greatest American Dog - have you seen it? What do you think? I'll withhold my opinion till someone else gives theirs)...
Anyway, you -- yes, you, all of you...have until October 8th of this year, to choose your favorite rescued animal at Rally to Rescue. You will need to visit the link "Doing More for Pets Rescue Stories Contest"... where you can access all the stories and pictures. The winner will be announced or posted on the site on December 1st. 
One of the rescue sites that I visit and hear from all the time is German Wirehaired Pointer Rescue, Inc. They are doing some fantastic work there. Of course, you may know of others...that are worth mentioning. Let me know. I sometimes get overextended (it's wonderful to get notes from all of you, but if I don't reply, it isn't because I don't want to. I encourage you to please...send another note and nudge me along...I don't mean to leave anyone out).

I wrote about a Rally to Rescue event yesterday to! I love the way Purina is stepping up to the plate to help these small rescues. Marketing is everything, and when it comes down to money, what money the rescues have they put it to the animals. Thank you Purina for giving back!
