Can't resist... Gabrielle at Hot Cherry ( a UK ad agency, not a new summer dessert) sent me a note about a new website called Talking Pets.
I admit I wasn't interested, after all...my pets talk to me all the time and Wabby even talks back. (Sometimes I think Carmel talks back, but it's all telepathic...very Twilight Zonish).
I decided to see what it was all about, though, and I'm so glad I did. It's funny, it's silly, and it has promise.
The technology comes from the states, so the press release they sent me, said. It allows the end-user to upload a picture of their pet (cat or dog) or use one already on the site, and create sound...to make it seem as if the pet is talking. Of course, the pet's mouth moves, too. The sound is a voice of your choosing, saying what you wish it to say...within 200 words.
I tried it out...with a picture of Carmel. Very cool! I didn't have a good pic...you need a pic that faces front, but it still worked.
The whole idea is to bring more attention to All About Pets, in the UK. Debbie Curtis, of Blue Cross Communications (not the health insurance agency...this is a pet lovers charity), said, "If you want to tell someone they're in the doghouse but the cat's got your tongue, using a talking pet is the perfect solution."
They're hoping to go viral, of course. Want to help...get your pet talking. Send me a link.
