This is Part II of a Scratchings & Sniffings Out Loud podcast on diabetes. Dr. Grace and Dr. Larry help us understand the management needs of dealing with a cat (or dog) with diabetes in this discussion. As we noted in our previous podcast, "diabetes is becoming more common ... in cats."

The good news is that this disease is manageable. Pet owners can work with their vet to keep their cats safe and healthy. One important area of management is diet. Yes, there are special diets for cats with diabetes, designed to provide the proper nutrition for this complex issue. It's important to understand the nutritional needs because cats and dogs are very different when it comes to nutrition.
