Ah! This is the year... that was. Or, should I say, this was the year that is? I don't know. I just know it was a year full of fun and excitement.
As we head into 2013, I remember all the good times with my pups - sleeping all over my bed and not one bit concerned about where I would find to stretch out!
I remember our walks - with Emily ever sniffing out rabbits and stalking them like the good hound dog she is. Of course, she never caught any because, as Tom says, "She can't pull me fast enough to catch up to those rabbits!"
I'm so happy to report that Chester has, at last, settled in. He loves his soft bed here in the living room, but I think he truly loves those couple of hours in the evening when we all cuddle up on the master bed and rest. He settles in nicely, after we coax him up our homemade stairs. One is not sure sure why he can't remember how to come up those stairs every night.
I'm also happy that my Olive, she of the "other reindeer" fame, has ventured to make eye contact, at last. She doesn't let the big dogs prevent her from getting her share of treats and she is the funniest little thing when she runs behind Emily in the back yard, as Emily barks her big barks at people passing by, and Olive yips a few of her own. She has never let having just one eye prevent her from enjoying life.
There are other things to remember - taking Olive to BlogPaws with Onyx. They do love each other, but both of them missed their doggy friends back home. Olive was so depressed not to have Emily with her. Onyx was surely wondering where Twiggy was, I have no doubt.
The two dogs were big hits with all the "hoomans" in attendance at the conference, but, I don't think we'll bring them next year, unless we can bring all of the pets. I wonder how Chester would do at a BlogPaws conference. Hmmm... btw, do you have your Early Bird ticket? They'll be gone soon!
We also remember our Pandora, she of "the grumpy old lady" who left us this year. Still brings tears to my eyes. She was our precious Meow for close to 20 years! We still feel her presence in the house. And, I remember how she accepted these canine intruders - without so much as a blink of her eye. As if she sort of liked having them around... as long as they remembered who was Queen. We miss you, Pandora - our Wabby Wibby!
Our newest member, Molly, is becoming more and more comfortable in her new home. She is still a tiny bit leary of the dogs - mostly the ever-in-your-face Emily - and keeps to herself down by Tom's desk. However, I have caught her in the kitchen late at night and early in the morning. She is beginning to make her rounds, slowly but surely! In no time at all, she will rule roost, just as Pandora did. We are so very delighted to have her in our little home.
I have to say this was a very good year for us. And, next year is going to be even better! You just watch!
I hope you can say the same. We, at BlogPaws, and here at Scratchings and Sniffings, wish you Happy Holidays, Merry New Year, and best of everything for years to come.

I feel very comfortable, very grateful of the hard work and good luck to see the article.

I have to second what Carol said so eloquently..." Love these images and best of all, loving that you have touched my life so. I can't wait for BlogPaws 2013 and all the amazing things in store."
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL OF YOU!
