So sorry for your loss. I know too well what it's like to lose a heart dog that can never be replaced. I hope you are able to remember him with more smiles than tears sooner than you can imagine is possible. Love never dies.

I stumbled upon your site by accident and was riveted to the screen reading Chester's story and the love he inspired in others around him. What a beautiful dog. I hope you are comforted by the outpouring of love and affection from your readers. Thank you for sharing your story during this difficult time. I wish you all heartfelt peace.

Yvonne, they say a sorrow shared is halved. I hope sharing this tender post about your dear heart and soul dog, Chester helps ease the sorrow. We are a community of pet lovers and together we are strong. ((hugs)) to you and Tom. Plus an extra hug to Emily.

Thank you, all, for your kind thoughts. I still look for him, and wonder why he's taking so long to come in at night... I find comfort in Emily and Olive, and our beautiful kitty. But, there will never be another like our Chester.

Edie

What a lovely tribute. I'm so sorry for your loss. Sending healing thoughts -- and empathy for your pain.

Cindy

I'm so very saddened and sorry to hear of the loss of Chester. He was a soul dog, so sweet and thoughtful. I know this pain is very deep for the entire family and my heart goes out to you, Tom and Chloe. Chester's life was so very blessed with you as his family. He learned the meaning and beauty of true, unconditional love. I'm sorry that you had to lose such a special little guy.

Kristindewey

We are sorry for your loss. Chester sounds like quite a dog. He was so fortunate to be adopted into your home and given so much love.

Susan Getgood

What a lovely tribute to Chester. Thinking of you all. I know how hard this is. XOXO

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I'm sure it's still such a shock. Hemangiosarcoma is an awful awful disease. We lost our lab to it in 1999, so I know that panic of internal bleeding and what comes next.

I interviewed a veterinary oncologist recently who told me this: “I think if you asked anyone who treats cancer with dogs, hemangiosarcoma is the disease that’s the hardest one for everyone to manage and take care of. If there was a way to overcome that disease alone, we’d be jumping for joy.”

Hugs to all of you in your time of grief.

Maggie

Oh, Yvonne. I'm so deeply sorry for your loss. This was a beautiful tribute to a very special boy. Even though no words can alleviate the pain of the loss, please know that my thoughts and prayers for peace are with you and your family. Hugs.

Cathy Keisha

I’m here to pay my respects to Chester. *bows head* I am sending comforting purrz to those he left behind.

Christie Zizo

Yvonne, from one hound mom to another, my heart aches for you. Thank you for sharing a bit of your life with him. I'm sure you will see Chester again someday.

The Swiss Cats

Oh no, I'm very sorry for your loss. You did the hardest choice a pet lover has to do allowing him to go to the Rainbow Bridge. He knows that you loved and will always love him. After the tears will come sweet and happy memories, let the time work... Zorro and Claire

Ingrid King

Kiril Kundurazieff

I'm so glad to hear Chester's story, and so sorry you lost him. It's always too soon, but he had a wonderful home after eight years of working, and 13 isn't such a bad age. Thank you for rescuing.

Carma Poodale

Yvonne and Tom, I have no words to make it any better but I know your hearts are torn into pieces and tears flowed while writing this post.My heart hurts for you both. Chester isn't in anymore pain and is watching over you both. I know he misses you both too. What a wonderful life he had. He had two loving parents who made his life so much more than he probably ever dreamed. Thank you for giving him the life that you did. Beautiful tribute to a beautiful boy.
My hugs and prayers are with you.

Alana and Crepes

We are so very sorry to hear of your loss. It's SO HARD to lose a friend, especially one that shared your home and your life. I have no doubt you made his last 5 years the best of his life. Sending lots of purrs and comfort. - Alana and Crepes.
