I loved this post and you made me feel better. Lenny and I don't make a fuss over the holidays, partly is because financially we can't, but I agree about our pets. Dakota isn't big on toys either. He has tons, don't get me wrong. Some are expensive that he was lucky to review. His favorite toy? An old Dollar Store red white and blue plush ball (that needs to be in the garbage). It is about 5 yrs old and it is the ONLY toy he goes to. Cody? He isn't good at playing alone as my Angel Bobo was. They both have more than enough toys. We are Jewish so there is obviously no tree...but...I barely remember to light our battery operated (because of the pets), Menorah. Neither Cody nor Dakota know or care. Dakota does have reindeer ears but is as thrilled with them as Chester was with his. Life sometimes gets in the way of the holiday trappings...but it doesn't mean that we don't feel the spirit just the same.

LeeAnna Paylor

poor neglected critters. Nary a squeaky toy? Not even one that squeaks? No ugly Christmas sweaters? Not even five matching ones, one for each of you?

We did buy Cole a new squeaky toy each Christmas. And he'd squeak it til it broke, then go back to his favorite ball. He knew something was up when the tree showed up. Of course they don't celebrate like we do, they are happy to have each other and you and a soft place to nap every day of the year.
Thing is, I like holidays to make a change from the humdrum life we live now that Cole is gone.

Kitties Blue

Emily and Olive look so sweet...definitely an "ahh" moment. The kitties always love curling up under the tree as it is warm and cozy. They also love to help decorate and de-decorate as well. This year we have no tree and no decorations. Pretty sure they haven't noticed. They always get more toys and treats than they need so I pay it forward and pass lots on to the shelter. Wishing you all a joyous and blessed holiday season, Janet and Kitties Blue
