Occasionally I am contacted by folks who want to contribute to this blog. I am selective. If you don't show me that you understand the blog, or if you send truly inappropriate content (not about pets or relevant to the human animal bond), you will be ignored. If you pursue me, I will testily tell you why you and your content were not chosen.
If you submit content and it's good content but it's not relevant to blog, again, I will decline.
In today's case, guest blogger Diana Hutchinson from Tin Paw, sent me content that is awesomely proper for Scratchings and Sniffings. it's about human food cats can't eat. And, since good health is the foundation of the human animal bond, I am delighted to share Diana's post with you. (be nice, leave her a comment)
Top 7 Human Foods Cats Can’t Eat
Cats are not humans, no matter how much they understand you or your problems. This is definitely true when it comes to food! There are some foods you can never give to your cats or you will be putting your kitties at risk.
Many cat owners are keen on not going for homemade cat food because it would be inconvenient for them or they don’t know what is best for their cats. However, some people mistakenly give their felines some of their food without knowing that it is bad for their kitties.
There are some cats who can tolerate human food products but some felines could get sick, throw up, or suffer from diarrhea. If you don’t want to put your kitty’s health at risk, make sure you don’t feed cats with these seven human foods.
- Raw Eggs
Cats are obligate carnivores and their protein needs are pretty high! Being one of the best protein sources, eggs might seem to be the perfect food for cats. However, do not feed your pet with uncooked eggs.
Uncooked eggs could make your cat susceptible to pancreatitis or the inflammation of the pancreas. Parasites and salmonella in raw eggs are actually the culprit behind this problem.
Cooked eggs are safe for cats though. However, you need to feed cats with only small doses.
