Yes, Virginia, my dog does have a soul

I am not the only one who believes animals have a soul. First of all, any diety that populates a planet with creatures great and small, must have had a reason for that. And, in that reasoning, it does not compute that only ONE species gets to have 'eternal life'... because, what good is eternal life if you cannot have your pets with you?

On Facebook, I was scrolling through some updates and came across this quote, showing on the Brain Pickings page, a great place for thoughtful discourse:
