I remember that same conversation from when we got our first pet together (me and my girlfriend). You obviously don't think about it when you wish for a pet, but once you go into realization of the process, you have to take a look at finances. I'd say that $1500 is close to what we spend as well. But it's always worth it in the end :)

I like your style so much. I get your posts by email so I don't always come over to comment.
We are coping with the news last week, that our standard poodle son has a malignant tumor. He just turned 14 and I just don't know how much intervention to try. He hates hates hates vet offices. The percentages are not good anyway. I don't want to neglect him, but don't want to cause unnecessary pain and recovery to him either.
