Wonderful post! My Husky is a therapy dog as well. When we visited Alzheimers patients in a local nursing home it was amazing how many of them reacted to her! My Mom also had Alzheimers and my dog was great with her. Both my dogs brought my Mom a lot of happiness on our visits to her home. She loved giving them treats, which I had to curtail! Pets can offer amazing healing for those in need. They really are angels!

No, i don't think so. The human animal bond between patient and dog is so strong you truly say that. Dog therapy also an effective therapy for dementia. But I don't there is a miracle.

As the upright half of pet therapy team, I have seen first hand the miracles therapy dogs can accomplish with sick or suffering patients. It is the most rewarding work I've done and I always come home smiling knowing my pup made so many peeps happy.
